Impact of maternal thyroid hormone in late pregnancy on adverse birth outcomes: A retrospective cohort study in China

The purpose of this study was to explore the impact maternal thyroid hormone dysfunction in late pregnancy on birth outcomes a Chinese population. We retrospectively examined hospitalisation records and laboratory data between April 2016 March 2017 obtained results from 11,564 consecutive pregnant women with singleton births which serum had been together outcomes. assessed association level adverse based regression analysis. Hyperthyroidism associated an increased risk preterm (PTB, adjusted OR: 2.41, 95% CI: 1.83–3.17) hypothyroidism small for gestational age (SGA, 1.56, 1.10–2.22), while hyperthyroxinaemia decreased large (LGA, 0.64, 0.45–0.90). In addition, compared normal FT3 TSH (?the 5th ?the 95th percentiles), high free triiodothyronine (FT3 >the percentile) low thyroid-stimulating (TSH <the 4.02- fold higher PTB (95% 2.05–7.88), 4.22- greater SGA 1.59–11.23).
